Every genealogist dreams of coming to Salt Lake City. It’s the Disneyland of all things genealogical. This was my third trip, but just my second with the California Genealogical Society. Last year I hit pay dirt after discovering a monumental fact on the second day. This time around was much more humbling. After countless hours on the microfilm reader I gathered several new probate files, some baptismal records and other similar tidbits. But the others on the tour were very experienced researchers, they knew what to do and how to find it. It makes me realize just how far I have to go on this learning curve.
